Beyond The Tears

Beneath the smiles is pain and hurt

The spears of love do scar

And although time may pass and things may change

You always remember the start

For you remember the jokes you shared

The sweet words that echoed loud

And although you know why you had to let go

You wish they were near now

Behind the pose of boldness lies insecurity at its peak

Soft poetry haunts your lonely thoughts and memories start to creep

Watered down emotions from the loved ones you keep close

For how much you need your other half, they will never actually know

It’s hard to say good bye as you never see the good

And sometimes you write the things you feel when you swore you never would

Below the lifted chin is a heart hanging by a thread

And followed like a pathway is everything you said

Replaying back the moments, when they were safely in your hands

Now they are long gone from your presence and alone your left to stand

Besides those warming comments and those nights you’ll always love

Time has seemed to heal the wound and you have watched it close on up

Friends become your comfort and you do the things you like

For now there are no more conflictions and everyone’s now on your side

So you realise you owe more now, as their heart you’ve torn to shreds

And they’ll never be able to forgive you, no matter how hard you beg

Beyond the tears I cry at night is something I’d like to share

I’ve grown to regret my actions and see the repercussions fair

But dare I wreck my soul each day to hold this pain inside

For I’ve learnt to forgive my youthful sins and peer into the signs

I’ve made myself clear now I think I’ve done my part

I hope you know I’d do anything to have you in my arms

Long days outside

Memories in every place

I Force my eyes to shut at night

As my ceiling holds your face
