Do You? By Eli Oko

Do you want me to believe your joyful expressions

Knowing your weighty thoughts

Do you want me to fall into your wide smile

Knowing the pain in your eyes

Do you think I can pay attention to your lifted hands

Knowing your dragging your feet

Do you think I can hear your solemn voice

Knowing I read your cries for help

I stay away not because I’m buying the impression you’re selling

But because

I know, things fell apart to create something greater.

And that’s worth the wait.
