Goodnight by Eli Oko

She was trying to creep in through the cracks in her memory

Trying to feed on her insecurities and doubts

She was this shadow within her that screams and shouts

But to no avail

Becoming estranged with hope

Fear of above was chained to her ankles

Prayer was on her lips

And help was near

I choose you, she whispers back through the cracks in her memory

Loud enough for her to hear

I choose you beyond anyone else

And with that strength

She sent her back

And she withdrew

Until a more convenient time

Good fight, she smiles

Good victory, she smiles

Good night.
